The third annual Female Founders Summit marked another significant milestone in our ongoing mission to promote diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurship. Since our start in 2002, Founders Alliance has worked to unite both female and male founders, advocating for equal opportunities for growth and success.
A key insight shared at the summit was that as companies grow larger, fewer women are leading them. For example, in Sweden, fewer than 3 % of female founders own companies with turnovers exceeding €10 million, a trend reflected globally. This imbalance of wealth and influence must be addressed to build a stronger, more equitable society.
We believe that encouraging diverse ownership is essential for future growth. Research shows that diversity not only drives better results but also sparks innovation and growth. While homogenous groups may find it easier to work together, the most successful outcomes arise in diverse groups.
We’ve experienced the power of diversity firsthand in our Founders Groups - the strength of uniting and solving challenges together - and we truly believe we can all make a difference as the doers of the world.
During the summit, over 100 founders collaborated, shared experiences, and discussed how to address these challenges. We also shared successes and gained insights that will inspire actions within our companies, ownership structures, and impact our organizations.
A Powerful Message from Our Keynote Speaker
One of the summit’s most inspiring moments was the keynote speech by Patricia Olby Kimondo - longtime Founders Alliance member, founder of People Productions and the founder of the Double Up Impact initiative. Patricia captivated the audience with a powerful call to action, urging us to take bold steps toward change and to challenge the biases that often hinder female founders.
Her words served as a reminder of the importance of confronting stereotypes, embracing diversity and using creativity and imagination as a tool for change as keys to unlocking true potential. Throughout the summit, we examined the biases that continue to hinder progress and discussed strategies to shift mindsets.
Patricia’s message was clear: even the smallest actions, when combined, can drive profound change. By uniting as founders, we have the power to reshape industries and transform the world for female founders.
